The Juneau Snow Marauders Snowmobile Club was established in 1974. To make trail grooming easier, the club was able to purchase an Arrowhead groomer in 1994 and rented tractors to groom the trails. Walking on foot over miles to brush cut and mark the trails became too much work, so the club purchased a John Deere Gator in 2002 to better assist our members in getting the job done more efficiently. In 2012, the club purchased its very own 4 wheel drive John Deere tractor to pull the groomer and smooth the plowed fields.
Our club maintains 30 miles of trails in Central Dodge County, Wisconsin. The work it takes to create and maintain our trails is done by our many volunteer members. Every year, our members visit various land owners and ask for permission to use their land for trails, collect monetary donations from local businesses who wish to take out ads on our sign board, brush cut our section of the Wild Goose Rec trail, prep the trails with a cultipacker, mark all 30 miles with trails signs, and maintain the trails throughout the season with our tractor and groomer. We are one of many clubs that belong to the Dodge County Snowmobile Association and the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs (AWSC).
Our trails have two main access points:
1) Wild Goose Recreational Trail - vehicle parking is available on Highway 60, 1 mile east of County Road W.
2) BP Wild Goose Station - The Goose Station is located at the intersection of Highways 26 and 33 north of Juneau. The gas station has a convenience store and there is vehicle parking across the street.
